soft touch [installation] 2024
neon, cast glass, film + sound
on view 24/7 in Olneyville Square in Providence, RI at the convergence of 5 different roads. at random intervals, a bubble machine turns on and fills the space with bubbles.
the film wash the space in color/light. There is a cast glass vessel in the shape of a 'Little Tree' that holds a small amount of Mountain Dew Baja Blast soda. There are multiple pieces of neon that paint the space with color/light.
sound from the film can be heard through contact speakers using the window display glass as a conduit. The aura of the installation changed depending on the time of day / night.
